The Burnie Thompson Show
Weekdays, 6AM - 9AM
THE HIGHEST RATED MORNING TALK SHOW IN FLORIDA
The Burnie Thompson Show earned an 11.6 Share for Persons 12+ in the Fall of 2009.
Marco Rubio, U.S. Senate Candidate and former Florida House Speaker, calls Burnie "Florida’s Voice of Freedom.”
Burnie is a former U.S. Air Force Captain and college English Teacher with four college degrees. After graduating with an AA degree from Riverside Community College and a bachelor’s degree in Political Science from Cal State Fullerton, Burnie earned two master’s degrees: One in Print Journalism from USC in Los Angeles, and the other in English from Penn State University. He also has been a free-lance columnist for 11 years.
He’s an intellectual who doesn’t act like one, preferring a down-to-earth relationship with listeners. His incisive and passionate commentary champions personal freedom and responsibility, and underscores the burdens of government encroachment into our lives.
Don McCoy, Chairman of MAGIC BROADCASTING, says, "Burnie has amazing listener appeal, which accounts for the double-digit Shares he gets book after book.”
McCoy describes The Burnie Thompson Show on WYOO in Panama City as “the perfect blend of politics and human interest, leading the conversation Floridians are having about the direction Florida and our country are heading.
He draws everybody – men and women, conservatives and liberals, young and old – because his show is informative, entertaining and provocative. In short, it’s interactive and exciting!” says McCoy.
Burnie’s show is less about winning arguments than pursuing the truth and advancing freedom.
Burnie says, “I hold politicians accountable to represent the people under the constraints of the Constitution. We are facing serious challenges and people are hurting. Now Floridians don’t have to feel frustrated and isolated any more. They have a place to come and link arms. Together, we can save each other.”
Jeff Atwater, Florida’s Senate President, describes Burnie’s show as “The most insightful and entertaining commentary in Florida.”
Allan Bense, former Florida House Speaker, says Burnie “Impacts Florida politics like nobody else on the radio.”
So whether you listen for confirmation or antagonism, get involved! Remember what British poet William Blake said a couple hundred years ago: “The man who never alters his opinion is like standing water, and breeds reptiles of the mind.”
No standing water, and no reptiles – not on this show!
